Muralistos

This is another strange piece that I worked on through a very difficult time in life. Pre-production began during pre-pandemic times. Filming happened during the hight of the pandemic. Post-production happened after Covid had wrecked my body, and I still wasn’t fully convinced I would ever recover.

There is a lot about this project that gives me anxiety and makes me sad, simply because of the time it reminds me of. But it also has a lot of work that I’m really proud of, and that (in hindsight) probably helped me recover.

And it’s beautiful because that was kind of the point of the documentary: the importance of art and healing power of communal creativity.

After spending six years living abroad, and being forced to return to a place I never felt was home, I was reintroduced to all the things I didn’t know I had missed so much. The language, the colors, the culture. The artistic sensibilities. The streets covered in colorful images of landscapes and stories of this particular place on earth. How could I ever want to abandon this place?

Thank you to everyone who created this. Thank you for bringing me home.

These are teaser trailers I made for the individual artists
