Go Big, Or Go Take a Hike (or both)
Hesperus Mountain, Dibé Ntsaa, is one of the Four Sacred Mountains of the Navajo Nation.
This spot was so difficult.
From the snow banks that trapped our rigs to the idiots shooting at our drone, it was not an easy weekend.
It was also really hard to decide what to shoot, and where, and when.
We had a beautiful view from our campsite, but if you were brave enough to hike through the woods and along the marsh at night, there was another really fantastic view with a creepy dead tree (I ilke dead trees, they have personality.) And ten minutes down another path led to this epic view. It was hard to choose.
So I did them all!
This one ran for about twelve hours. I set up a time lapse for sunset, one for the Milky Way, and one for sunrise. And it turned out beautiful!
I often have to limit myself, because I can get overly ambitious and take on more than I can handle. But I’ve learned Photography is the one place where I can go nuts and do all the things.
